This porcelain dinner plate is from the Gránit Porcelain and Stone Dish Factory from Hungary. It has a fairy tale pattern and a golden rim. The plate is perfect for children. However, you can use the plate as a decorating item. Just hang it on the wall with some other plates and create a vintage atmosphere. It is an unusual but eye-catching decorating idea and will lend the room a unique look. The porcelain dinner plate is in great condition. There are no cracks or other damages, just a couple of signs of age. The golden colour has slightly faded in some parts. According to the hallmark, we only know the provenance, not the exact age.
The Budapest-Szentlőrinc Brick Factory was founded in 1889. The factory began to experiment with manufacturing dishes in 1920. They applied simple methods used by the potters. Their trademark was GRANIT. In the beginning, the factory only produced dishes used in households. It was important that the products had good quality and were cheap. In 1938 the name of the company became Granit Porcelain and Stone Dish Factory Inc. Besides plates, the factory began with the manufacturing of decor objects. The new generation of artists brought new colours, forms, and motifs into production. The factory often took part in National Fine Arts Exhibitions, where it won many awards.
