Description:
This antique table fork is from alpaca silver and is from Austria from the Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik. The hallmark is an old and rare hallmark from the manufacturer. They registered the hallmark in 1880. The fork is probably from around that time. It was used a lot and there is an RG monogram on the handles. The fork is one of those amazing pieces that will never fail to impress and that will also make a nice gift for yourself or an antique lover. It is also a useful and decorative accessory in every kitchen. The antique table fork is in good condition. There are no dents or other damages, just a couple of signs of age. The wear and the patina add the fork tons of character.
Alfred Krupp founded the Berndorfer Metallwarenfabrik in 1843 in Berndorf. He received the title of Imperial and Royal Court Supplier in 1898. A peculiarity among the products was the so-called alpaca silver. The alpaca silver has great durability, therefore the company used it a lot. The company donated from its profit to many social institutions in Berndorf. These social institutions were, for example, residential buildings or Berndorf schools.
