Description:
The vintage sugar spoon is from the Pinder Bros. manufacturer from England. The spoon is marked EPNS AI. EPNS is the abbreviation for electroplated nickel silver. AI means that the quality of this server was high. British electroplates used a letter code for their “plated” wares. The best quality was “A1” or “AI”, the lower level was “A”, the next level was “B”, followed by level “C”, and the lowest level was “D”. According to the hallmark, it dates back to around 1963. The sugar spoon would be a gorgeous piece in every cutlery collection. It is one of those amazing pieces that will never fail to impress and that will also make a nice gift for yourself or a vintage lover. The vintage sugar spoon is in good condition. There are no dents or other damages, just a couple of signs of age.
John and Charles Pinder founded the Pinder Bros. manufacturer in 1877 in Sheffield. The company is still a family business today.
